Wanita KEADILAN Wilayah Persekutuan is holding a special convention to award nine of our very active and long serving Wanita members. They have been with the reformist movement of the party since 1998 and they are the heroines without names prior to the convention. They stood fast in solidarity with the party President and DSAI without fail. You see them on demonstrations, at prayers, at the court hearings, in every by-election as campaign volunteers etc. and they have asked nothing in return.
In recognition of their contributions and their families' sacrifices, Wanita KEADILAN Wilayah Persekutuan decided, for the first time, to document these heroines aged more than 55 years old. Without them, gender mainstreaming in the party will not be realised. Without their contributions and efforts as a team, we will not realise the amendment to the constitutions of Party Keadilan Rakyat that brought about the inception of clause 18.17*.
On that auspicious occasion, Wanita KEADILAN Wilayah Persekutuan shall declare its commitment to support the party's effort to implement substantive measures to realise the intents and purpose of clause 18.17 of the party constitution in this coming party election and the next GE.
*Peraturan Perlembagaan 18.17:
Melaksanakan dasar penglibatan sekurang-kurangnya tiga puluh peratus (30%) dari kedudukan kepemimpinan di peringkat Cabang, Negeri dan Pusat adalah terdiri dari wanita.
