Hundreds of Malaysians have turned up to protest a massive Petronas-led petrochemical project in Johor, over claims that thousands of villagers could lose their homes and livelihoods.
Top opposition politicians joined the protest held in a state that will be keenly fought in the next general election. The mammoth project is the latest that has run into opposition from local residents following the Lynas rare earth facility in Pahang.
